OK... most of you have heard about the flea market scheduled to open this weekend in the former Waldbaums/Franks property.
What do you think of the idea? do you hope its permanent? temporary?
What do you think should be built there?
What worries you about the prospect? What pleases you?
We still think a big box store would be preferable...

I love flea markets, however, I am a resident of New Dorp, and am fearful that it will turn into a garbage pit because stuff will most likely be left when sellers leave the lot. I guess that makes me a "not in my neighborhood" type of person. I don't want to see a BIG BOX store put in that location without something drastic happening to New Dorp Lane related to traffic. Traffic has been just horrible in the area since those condos were put up behind that lot.
ReplyDeleteChatted with some friends about the flea market. We think a great use of that lot is to turn it into a municiple parking lot. Great spot for picking up a bus to manhattan, excellent parking for miller field, a revenue source for the city.
